Preparing Data for inclusion on Gravestatus.co.uk

Paper Burial Records

We appreciate that many records may be fragile and worn and that these may be the only records in existence, that some burial authorities do not already have electronic burial records and that some authorities may not have the man power to undertake record conversions in house.

We have negotiated special rates on behalf of burial authorities with a reputable company that has undertaken work for the Ministry of Defense, DVLA and Local authorities.
The company understands the value of irreplaceable records and guarantees their safe transportation, handling and return, in the shortest possible time. They estimate the conversion of 5,000 records per day, charge rate 7p - 10p per record (first 30 records converted for free).

The company has high security measures in place to ensure data doesn’t fall into the wrong hands and they destroy all scanned and duplicated records on site after conversion.

Example: 1,000 records electronically converted approximate cost £70 - £100

Any burial authority requiring further information on this service should email data@gravestatus.co.uk

When your paper records are converted into an electronic format you can bulk upload to the Grave status website via downloadable record sheets.

Electronic Burial Records

To upload your burial and inspection records regardless of how little information you have, you will need to download the grave status CSV file from the back end of the system.

You can only gain access to this restricted area as a registered burial authority. Please complete a GS1 registration form found on the Burial Authority page to register with us. Registration, Data uploads and data hosting is 100% FREE to all burial authorities.
